Council votes to remove bus funds from rail's financial plan

The City Council voted 8-1 Wednesday to remove $210 million in federal bus funds from the rail's project's official financial plan. Councilman Brandon Elefante, who represents Aiea, Pearl City and Waipahu, was the only vote against Resolution 15-18.

Yellow construction equipment stood out against a cloudy sky as an overpass for the city's rail line took shape along the H-1 freeway in the WaiA pahu area. Starting Monday, rail construction and road reconstruction will close lanes on the H-1 freeway and Kamehameha Highway between Waipahu and Kalihi.
